Please add an Mobile App to Augment Awesome Website
Abhishek
Hi,
I was a Splitwise user for a very long time. I had always loved that we could do all this over desktop or mobile app.
But since Splitwise added a paywall to add more than 4 expenses per day, myself and all the people I know are looking for decent alternatives to Splitwise.
Your website is by far superior in terms of features, especially Debt Visualiazation. I would love to see your product succeed, and the only thing which I could see potentially stop you from surpassing Splitwise is a Mobile App which augments your website experience.
I hope this helps, All the very best!
Thanks
Abhi

Spiltwise is only proper application, its dominating market, Why do you give try to build native application for mobile. Which allows users switch to spiltwise to here as spitwise more expensive.
There are so many application that i have tested for non of them mad happy and i find this still there no application put me sad. even going perium with decent prizes user like this rather speeding for big on spitlwise

This is my top reason me and friends haven’t been able to move away from Splitwise. We use it for traveling and there usually is no signal so can’t add small expense on the go (beers, gas, etc)

Juan Serrano: honestly with how good the pwa is, an app that is just a wrapper for the pwa, with an offline mode ( essentially just a queue to add expenses once connection is restored) would be more than enough for an initial launch.

Alkarim Billawala: Spot on. This is exactly what I'm thinking as well. PWA = app icon, no browser. Offline mode = try to sync to server over time and once done, clear out pending queue. Great minds think alike! I'll have to look into offline PWA support (service worker area that I'm not familiar with!)

Bradley Bernard: perhaps a local CSV file, synced via iCloud, for the “queue” file. Clear the file once client is back online. You already have the ability to read CSV from splitwise import. Just standardize on that format- for now at least, obviously a more robust implementation is warranted in the long run.

Alkarim Billawala: PWA exists now
Alkarim Billawala
Allen Brouwer: Correct. the idea is to put it on the App Store along with basic offline functionality. Most people will prefer an app to a website. Especially since others in the market use apps.

Please also add shortcuts support onto the roadmap for the ios/apple platform apps.

With PWA support now added, it makes it more "mobile" like, although nothing beats a mobile app :)
